Interview with Belly Dancer Helen Blondel on Wedding Performances

My favorite part about performing at weddings is sharing the moment of joy with attendees through audience participation.

How did you come up with the idea for your business/service?
As a belly dancer who has been performing professionally for over a decade, I’ve always adored being a part of special celebrations, such as weddings. The idea of providing this service came shortly after realizing how happy belly dancing in this environment makes me.

What does your work entail?
I perform belly dance shows customized to clients’ preferences. What I love about this style of dance is that there are so many avenues to choose from and there is really something for everyone. Props I’ve worked with include veils, cane, finger cymbals, and silk butterfly wings. There are endless choices of music styles and costume types to choose from. My favorite part about performing at weddings is sharing the moment of joy with attendees through audience participation.

What is your greatest achievement so far?
My greatest achievement so far in belly dance is being able to share my knowledge of dance with anyone wanting to learn, through my recent online dance course that I launched as part of my dance brand, BellyPOP.

Where can our readers find you online?
Readers can find out about my entertainment and teaching services onĀ www.helenbellydance.net.

Any advice for someone considering to have a wedding business/service?
My advice is to take your time and do your research before making a decision. It’s okay to ask as many questions as you need to make sure the service is a good match with your needs. After all, it’s your special day!
