sunscreen

If you get married in the summer you can always make your own organic sunscreen lotion and pick ingredients by your self.

There are so many sunscreens available on the market, so why would you make your own, you ask yourself. Yes, branded sunscreens protect our skin from harmful sun rays. But, what happens is that many sunscreens we buy at drugstore contain synthetic chemicals and some toxic ones as well. Additionally,  not all of those products suit our skin and can actually do harm to your skin. The good thing is if you get married in the summer you can always make your own customized sunscreen and pick ingredients by your self. All you need is a bit of knowledge and even less time. The best thing is you will know all the ingredients and they will all be 100% natural. So let’s get started.

We are starting with a base for your sunscreen and perfect oil. The first thing you need to know is which natural sunscreen oil suits you best. You can choose from olive, almond, carrier oil, red raspberry seed oil, carrot seed oil or other oil you have been using for skin care, depending on what your skin likes the most.

Personalized sunscreen lotion

Ingredients:

– 1/2 tea cup of your favourite natural sunscreen oil by choice

– 3 tea spoons of coconut oil

– 1/4 tea cup of bee wax

– 2 teaspoons of zinc oxide

– few drops of essential oils by choice

– few drops of vitamin E

How to make this organic sunscreen lotion?

Mix the natural sunscreen oil you choose, coconut oil, essential oil, vitamin E and bee wax in a bowl and put the bowl in another dish 1/3 filled with water. Let the ingredients melt by occasionally slowly stirring them until they melt in equal consistency. Remove the bowl with ingredients and remove condensation from the walls of the bowl and add zinc oxide while the mixture is still warm and stir well. The mixture is good to go. You can place it in a tin and store at room temperature in a dry place.

Why these ingredients?

Natural sunscreen oils provide sun protection in a way that doesn’t harm our skin because there are made from beneficial herbs that nourish our skin and contain no toxic chemicals. Bee wax is there to give our DIY sunscreen some consistency. Zinc oxide is a necessary part of organic sunscreen lotion, and unlike chemical minerals in drugstore sunscreens, which contain toxins that can go to the bloodstream, zinc oxide is a harmless mineral. Essential oils add a perfume-like scent to the sunscreen, and vitamin E is important antioxidant and keeps skins youthfulness.

So go ahead, have fun and make your super protective DIY organic sunscreen lotion you will absolutely love during your wedding day. And it makes a great wedding favor for your guests!
