Where do you start when choosing a wedding location?

wedding location

The wedding location is one of the most important elements of a wedding. It is the place you will remember for the rest of your life when you look back on your wedding day. Whether you choose a romantic garden, a castle or a beach, the location must match the theme and atmosphere you have in mind.

Good Wedding Venues ensure that everything runs smoothly on the day itself. The staff must be friendly and helpful and everything must be well organized. Make sure you have a clear idea in advance of what you want and what the location has to offer. This way you avoid disappointments and can enjoy a perfect wedding day.

1. Is the wedding location still available?

For every location you have in mind, this question is of course of utmost importance: is the location still available? We would like to give you a tip to be very flexible in terms of wedding date. Many locations are already fully booked for the current year. So make sure to inquire.

2. Choosing a wedding location: what is the atmosphere?

One of the first things to consider when choosing a wedding venue is the atmosphere. Do you want a chic location or an informal one? What suits you and your guests best? For example, we once encountered a chic group that had to use mobile toilets. Not every company can deal with this.

3. Can you use multiple rooms?

Having multiple rooms at the wedding venue can be useful, especially if you have dinner and a reception planned. Make sure there is enough room for a DJ or band and that there is a separate area for dancing.

4. Overnight accommodation options

If your guests come from far away, it is useful to look for a location with overnight accommodations for both the bridal couple and the guests. For example, is there a bridal suite for you? And if guests cannot stay overnight on location: is there a nearby hotel? If the latter is not the case: where can guests spend the night and is there something possible in terms of taxis or buses for transport?

5. How many guests do you want to invite?

When choosing a wedding location, you also need to think about how many guests you want to invite. This way you can search specifically for locations that are suitable for your number of guests. For example, with a large group you need space for a large party with a band or DJ. But with a small group you want a cozy space where you don’t lose each other.

6. Getting married indoors or outdoors?

Do you want to get married indoors or outdoors, or a combination of both? Make sure the location is suitable for your needs. Is it possible to switch at the last minute if the weather forecast turns out to be slightly different?

7. One or more locations on your wedding day?

Are you getting married in one location or do you want to use multiple locations for the ceremony and reception, for example? Or do you want to go to a party location in the evening? Discuss whether it is possible to rent the location for part of the day.
